Quick note from us
We've tried to keep this short and human. Each section starts with a plain-language summary so kids and parents can both follow along. The full text underneath is what you legally agree to.
If anything is unclear, write to us at support@loopyty.com. We have a separate Privacy Policy that explains how we handle your data — please read that too.
Loopyty is run by Loopyty AS (org. no. 933 519 708), a Norwegian company. When we say "we," "us," or "Loopyty," that's us. When we say "you," that's you — the person using the platform.
By creating an account or using Loopyty, you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.
We are a marketplace. That means we connect buyers and sellers, but the actual sale is between them. We don't own the toys, and we're not a party to the sale itself. (More on what that means in section 4.)
To open and run a Loopyty account, you must be 18 or older and able to enter into a binding agreement.
Kids are very welcome on Loopyty — that's the whole point. But the account is held by a parent or guardian (we call this your "home base"). Home base is responsible for:
If your child wants to list, buy, or write a review, that's great — but please do it together. Children should always check with home base before posting anything.
We reserve the right to ask for proof of age or identity if we have reason to believe an account is being used by a minor without supervision.
When you sign up, you agree to give us accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it up to date.
You're responsible for:
We won't be liable for losses caused by someone using your account without permission, but you may be liable for losses we (or others) suffer because of unauthorised use. Don't use anyone else's account.
Our role. We provide the platform, search, listings, and payment connection via Stripe. We also integrate with shipping partners — currently Helthjem — so sellers can book a pickup and buyers can track delivery without leaving Loopyty. Once the shipping partner collects the parcel from the seller, they are responsible for delivery, and their terms apply from that point on. Loopyty does not currently include shipping insurance, and the shipping price does not cover loss or damage in transit. We're not the seller, the buyer, the shipping company, or a party to the sale.
Private sellers, not businesses. Loopyty is for private individuals selling pre-loved toys from their own household. If you're a business or sell so often that you look like one, you must contact us first — separate rules apply.
What this means for buyers. When you buy from a private seller in Norway, the Norwegian Sale of Goods Act (Kjøpsloven) applies — not the Consumer Purchase Act (Forbrukerkjøpsloven). In short:
We strongly recommend reading the listing carefully.
Seller responsibilities. If you sell on Loopyty, you must:
What you cannot list. No counterfeit toys. No toys recalled for safety reasons. No toys with broken safety features, missing required parts, small parts that have come loose on a toy meant for under-3s, or anything that doesn't meet basic toy safety standards. No weapons, replicas of weapons, or anything illegal. No items that aren't toys.
Photos with kids in them. Please don't upload photos that show identifiable children's faces. A child's hand holding the toy is fine — a clear face shot is not.
It's free to register and browse. You only pay when you sell.
Service fee. Loopyty charges a 13% service fee on each completed sale. This covers payment processing, platform costs, and operations. We can change this fee with at least 30 days' notice via email; if you disagree, you can close your account before the new fee takes effect.
Stripe. All payments go through Stripe. To receive payouts, you'll need to accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and the Stripe Terms of Service. You agree to give Loopyty and Stripe accurate information about you so they can verify your identity. You authorise us to share transaction information with Stripe.
Payout timing. Your first payout usually arrives 7–10 days after your first successful sale. After that, payouts follow a 3-day rolling window or your account's payout schedule. Stripe may hold or delay a payout if there are concerns about fraud, chargebacks, or verification.
Taxes. You are responsible for any taxes on what you earn. Under EU rules (DAC7), Loopyty may be required to share information about your sales with tax authorities if you exceed certain thresholds (currently 30 sales or €2,000 in a calendar year).
Our Be Kind policy for reviews:
We may edit or remove reviews that break the Be Kind policy. Repeat breakers can lose access to leaving reviews — or to the platform.
When you post a listing, photo, review, or anything else ("Your Content"), you keep ownership. You give Loopyty a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt, and share Your Content as needed to run the platform — including in marketing of Loopyty itself. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where we need to keep something for legal reasons or back-ups.
You promise that:
We can remove Your Content if we believe it breaks these Terms.
The Loopyty platform — including the look and feel, logo, text, design, code, and graphics we create — is owned by Loopyty AS or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You can use it normally as part of using the platform, but please don't copy, resell, or repackage it.
You agree not to:
Breaking these rules can lead to listings being removed, your account being limited, or your account being closed.
We use a mix of automated checks and human review to keep Loopyty safe.
To report a listing, review, or user: use the report button on the item, or email support@loopyty.com. We aim to respond within a reasonable time.
If we take action against you, we'll tell you what we did and why, in line with the EU Digital Services Act.
To appeal a decision: reply to our message or write to support@loopyty.com within 30 days. A different team member will review the appeal.
Out-of-court dispute resolution. If we can't resolve things, EU consumers can use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform. Norwegian consumers can also contact the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) or the Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet).
Loopyty may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, Stripe). We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, products, or what they do with your information. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them.
You can close your account whenever you want, from your account settings or by emailing support@loopyty.com.
We can suspend or close an account if:
When an account closes, listings come down. Open transactions are completed where possible. We delete or anonymise data in line with our Privacy Policy, except where law or legitimate business needs require us to keep something longer.
The platform is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it running and improving, but we can't promise it will always be perfect or available.
For consumers. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under Norwegian or EU consumer law. If we cause you a loss because of our gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for personal injury, our full liability under law applies.
For other losses. Where the law allows us to limit liability, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the higher of (a) the fees you paid Loopyty in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) NOK 500. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost data.
Things that aren't our fault. We're not responsible for problems with the actual sale between buyer and seller — wrong description, late shipping, items not as expected, or loss or damage in transit — except where law says otherwise. Disputes about the toy itself are between you and the other user.
Force majeure. We're not liable for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control: natural disasters, war, pandemics, cyber-attacks, power or internet outages, or third-party service failures.
We can update these Terms. If we make a meaningful change, we'll let you know by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree with the change, you can close your account before it kicks in. If you keep using Loopyty after the change takes effect, you accept the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes will be decided by Norwegian courts, with Oslo City Court (Oslo tingrett) as the venue.
If you are a consumer living in another EU/EEA country, you keep the right to bring a case in the courts of your home country, and the consumer protection laws of your home country also apply where they give you stronger rights.
