How your tree grows

Every pre-loved toy you loop saves about 1.5 kg of CO₂ — roughly what it costs the planet to make that toy brand new. And here's the lovely bit: BOTH of you get all of it on your tree. The seller and the buyer. Strictly speaking, the maths splits it down the middle — 0.75 kg for you, 0.75 kg for them. But you can't loop your toy alone. Neither of you could have saved that toy without the other — so both trees show the whole 1.5 kg, because you both deserve to feel the full weight of what you did.

And here's the clever part: that 1.5 kg is also about a month's work for a real young tree — that's how long one takes to soak that much CO₂ out of the air. So loop 14 toys and you've done a tree's whole year. It counts every way you loop, too — whether you adopt a pre-loved toy or list a toy of your own. Look under your tree. Every root is a real person you've saved a toy with — maybe a kid in another city you've never met. No names, no photos, just the whole gang who kept looping toys with you. And if you deal with the same person again, that root grows thicker. The tree remembers.
